Brushing teeth with your braces
The best way to ensure a beautiful and healthy smile is brushing and flossing. Food particles have a tendency to accumulate around your braces. Over time when it is mixed with bacteria in your mouth, it turns into bacterial plaque. This can cause tooth decay, gum disease and even loss of your teeth. To avoid these problems, take special care of your braces by brushing and flossing daily.
For best brushing result, use a toothbrush with soft bristles and a small strip of fluoride toothpaste. Consider the following brushing tips:
Flossing while wearing braces
For areas between the teeth where the toothbrush cannot reach, you will need to use the dental floss to remove the food particles. Flossing with braces on the teeth will require more time. Please be patient as it is important to floss your teeth every day.

Interdental brush
A proxy brush is a tiny brush that you may use to clean underneath and around your wire and braces. Use the proxy brush gently to avoid damaging the wires. The proxy brush can be a helpful accessory tool in keeping your braces and teeth clean while in treatment.
