Playing Sports with Braces

Great news! Patients who are involved with athletic activities can continue enjoying their sporting activities while in orthodontic treatment.  We highly recommend that you wear a mouth guard to protect your teeth and braces when engaged in sporting activities. Please let our office know if you require a mouth guard to protect your teeth and braces when you start your braces treatment at our office.

If you are involved in a sports emergency of the head and neck areas, check to make sure your braces is not damaged and your mouth and teeth are not injured.  If you notice any damages to your braces or loose teeth, consider placing wax around damaged braces to temporarily relief discomfort.  Stay calm and contact our office to schedule an appointment.
